Bram Esser is an explorer of the everyday. Continuously looking for stories, he explored the borders of the city, lived in a shipping container of the beach of Scheveningen and he integrated in the Vinex-suburb Ypenburg with a borrowed labrador. His main research tool is a naive perspective. Nothing is self-evident or, better yet, the obvious should be distrusted. In 2012 the book Snelwegverhalen (Highway Stories) was published, a road book he made with Melle Smets. It received a Silver Tulip for being one of that year's most informative books.
